Celebrate Barktoberfest on October 5 at Oak Heart Veterinary Hospital at South Saunders

We’re excited to celebrate the opening of our third (and largest!) location in Raleigh with a Barktoberfest party on Saturday, October 5.

The Oktoberfest-themed event is open to the public from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1600 South Saunders Street.

Our festivities will include guided tours of the hospital, daycare and boarding, grooming and retail spaces; complimentary drinks from Trophy Brewing Company, Whiskey Kitchen and Seaboard Wine; delicious hors d’oeuvres provided by Locals Oyster Bar; live music; and specialty dog treats from Woof Gang Bakery. All attendees will receive a coupon for a free pet wellness exam, which can be redeemed at our South Saunders location at a later date.

“We worked closely with our architect firm to design a modern and innovative facility for pet owners in the downtown Raleigh and adjacent neighborhoods,” said George Ghneim, DVM, PhD. “Clients will benefit from comprehensive medical care, state-of-the-art diagnostic services, advanced technologies, as well as our new offerings of a pet resort with daycare and boarding services.”

The 10,000 square-foot location designed by Cline Design Associates will offer high-quality services and amenities such as a veterinary hospital, a retail shop, and a resort with dog daycare facility and kennels for boarding cats and dogs. Its innovative design features include a state-of-the-art outdoor play yard and interior play rooms; a new flooring system designed to be more cushioned and gentle on paws; an internal dry and wet vacuum system throughout the facility; an Energy Recovery HVAC system to provide fresh air; and compartmentalized areas to help control noise. Additionally, the layout of the building was designed to allow for quick and easy drop-off of pets.

“Our design was influenced by the prominent South Saunders location,” said Carl Winstead of Cline Design Associates. “Since South Saunders Street is a gateway to downtown Raleigh, we created a dynamic structure that is appealing to traffic flow in both directions.”

As part of our first-rate customer service approach, we guarantee that each pet will have one-on-one attention from our staff throughout each step of the visit. Our team at Oak Heart Veterinary Hospital at South Saunders will include primary care veterinarians, Drs. George Ghneim and Una Stone; practice manager, Carrie Fellows; and resort manager, Matt Beaulieu.
